Many people use this stone to help reduce stress and to ground them to the Earth. Hematite is also believed to bring strength to the person wearing it to tackle whatever has been causing them discomfort. This metallic stone is associated with the root chakra, which is thought to bring feelings of security about oneself. 

Hematite has a metallic luster and can appear silver-gray to reddish-brown.
